Rob Bray & Ludo Music

An introduction

I'm a producer, songwriter, singer, and multi-instrumentalist with extensive experience as a recording artist and performer, currently playing with world-folk festival headliners Dragonsfly, instrumental electro-folk floor-fillers The Celtic Spaceship, and award-winning singer-songwriter Jane Taylor, among a constantly expanding range of other live and studio projects. I'm also a producer, music teacher, and workshop leader, approaching my work with a focus on the specific requirements and aims of my clients.

Ludo Music is the music education and facilitation business I founded in 2010 to provide instrumental tuition, music workshops, and recording services both in person and remotely.
I am based in Glastonbury, Somerset, but wherever you are in the world, I can help you on your quest to musical self-expression.

I'm a member of the Musicians' Union with public liability insurance and a subscription to the DBS update service.

Tuition, care homes, and workshops

Tailored training

I offer 1:1 tuition and mentoring to instrumentalists and songwriters, both in person and via Skype or Zoom.

Since 2012 I have been providing regular storytelling and singalong sessions in care homes, both 1:1 and for groups.  This is a service I offer to homes and day centres for elderly people and for people with learning disabilities.

I also run workshops on various aspects of songwriting, general musicality, and theory.
These can be customised for your specific requirements.

The Musician Within is the philosophy that underlies all of my work.
It also forms the basis of a new and unique workshop that makes the joy of group playing available to all.

Songwriting in schools

Enhancing the learning of any subject through music

I provide workshops to primary schools, writing and recording original songs with the children. They don't need any musical training or experience and neither do the teachers. I explain the structure of popular songs, demystifying the songwriter's craft and giving the children the tools they need to write their own songs. I take the role of facilitator, guiding the children's ideas, ready to help at any time but keeping the children at the centre of the creative process.

Since 2022 I have been working as a creative practitioner for LIFEbeat (https://lifebeat.uk), developing and delivering music and arts workshops in Somerset schools.
